Thanks, Barbara and Sly. Very glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to have this conversation with Dave (and is in fact the first time I've ever said I love you, man at the end of an interview, Dave!).

It was really great to hear Kelley speak about what interests and drives her writing choices. One of the things that I thought while listening was that yeah as an actor you are out there in the public eye and those people have to find their way to connect with other people using something that is basically not real/fiction. Writers have a bit more distance and need to make a different kind of effort to connect but in ways it is far more intimate when you read what the writer allows on the page. That's not to say the writer is what they write but rather if you listen you can hear some of who the writer is through their creations.

The one thing that I really liked was the idea that the character of Mars is not mentioned as a gendered person but rather first and foremost Mars is a person, a character who is the thread who carries the ideas. .

"Doing damage to the norm" awesome! :-)

Re: Solitaire, I've had writer friends who've read this and pick out the flaws. I don't know if it's because I'm not a writer I just didn't read it from that point of view. I loved the creativity and the ideas that could happen in the real world if given enough consideration. It was interesting to see how Segura reentered the world although she wasn't my favorite character in that story. I felt right at home in Solitaire.

It was also really nice to hear Dave's voice after all these years of seeing his name as the webmaster of Nicola's web site before she took that over herself. Also it's nice to have a voice to go with Dave's comments on the list.

Great interview both of you thanks Dave for being there and thanks Kelley for accepting. I share a lot of your interests in performance/performers and people in general.
