Excellent interview. Jordan came across as a little as a little prickly. I heard another author say recently that it is pretty lame if you can't sum up your book or books in a few words. Jordan sounded like he was been a little "ornery" saying he'd need at least 12 pages to sum up one book.

I've gotta say, thanks for the great interview. I am one of those fans that discovered Jordan's work far too late and never got a chance to meet him at a signing or anything. Thank you for sharing such a great interview!

Mike, thanks for the kind words. In Mr. Rigney's defense, I had just confused the room number between the lobby and his floor so I earned what I got. I'm sure he didn't realize that the house phone I called him from was 3 steps from his door and he probably would have been surprised if he knew I heard that. It's all part of the game. He was at least a gentleman. One interview ended in a shouting match almost, but that's a story for another day.

the fact that you overheard him make a disparaging remark about you prior to the interview is amazing considering your age at the time - you stuck in there and did your normal engaging and thoughtful interview and its pretty obvious as it goes along that you won him over - he was into the interview by the end of it - good one dave, more pls :)
